Dr. Wang and colleagues win 1st place poster award at the Western Orthopaedic Association (WOA) Meeting in Maui, HI, Aug 3-6, 2022, for their project titled “The effects of methylprednisolone and triamcinolone on the viability and mechanics of native articular cartilage.”

Dr. Wang and students present their research at the ICRS Meeting in Berlin, Germany, Apr 12-15, 2022.

Dr. Wang was selected as a Southern California Rising Star by Super Doctors for 2022.

UCI announces plans to build a world-class hospital on the northern edge of campus. Leading-edge science will meet art and nature at UCI Medical Center Irvine-Newport, which will feature healing gardens, naturescapes, and a research preserve in a full-service academic health complex.

Dr. Wang was selected as a Southern California Rising Star by Super Doctors for 2021.

Dr. Wang and Dr. Scolaro were featured on the news after treating a bicyclist who was unfortunately hit by a car on PCH.

Dr. Wang and the UCI Department of Orthopaedic Surgery were featured among the Top Doctors of 2020 in Orange Coast Magazine.

Dr. Wang was chosen for the ICRS/Vericel – Lars Peterson Clinical Travelling Fellowship, which selects future leaders in the field of cartilage regeneration and joint preservation. It will culminate with the ICRS 2019 World Congress in Vancouver, Canada, Oct 5-8, 2019, where Dr. Wang will also present his research on osteochondral allograft transplantation.

Dr. Wang to serve as faculty and present his research at the Western Orthopaedic Association (WOA) Meeting in Monterey, CA, July 31-Aug 3, 2019.

Dr. Wang was elected a candidate member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES). The ASES is a society made up of leading national and international Orthopaedic surgeons who specialize in surgery of the shoulder and elbow, and is one of the premier orthopaedic organizations in the country.

Dr. Wang discusses the findings of his study, “Clinically Meaningful Improvement After Treatment of Cartilage Defects of the Knee with Osteochondral Grafts.”

Dr. Wang is a recipient of a $100,000 MTF Biologics Junior Investigator Grant for his project titled, “Biomechanical, Histological and Ultrastructural Analysis of Commercially Available Osteochondral Allografts.”

Dr. Wang and colleagues win 2nd place at the 2018 AOSSM Annual Meeting for their project titled, “Graft-Recipient Anteroposterior Mismatch Does Not Affect the Mid-Term Failure Rates of Osteochondral Allograft Transplantation of the Femoral Condyle.“

Dr. Wang discusses “Fellowship-trained surgeons are more likely to perform arthroscopic vs open distal clavicle excision.”
